Harvest Moon: Back to Nature in the character of Harvest Moon 64 was converted into the characters in this game, but with a new lifestyle, new personalities, and new relatives.

The main character in this game is a young boy, went to his grandfather's farm for the summer. His grandfather was too busy taking care of the farm to spend a lot of time with him, but he is free to explore the city and the forest he wants. The boy befriended his grandfather's puppy and met a little girl of her own age with whom he became close friends. When the summer ends she must return home, but he promised the little girl that he would return someday. A year later his grandfather died, the boy has grown into a young man, and he came to town again to take over the farm.
